Evin O'Brien is a Dublin based Guitarist, Composer and Educator. With a bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance, a Masters in Composition, and a Higher Diploma in Scoring for Video Games and Film, Evin's diverse academic background fuels his creativity.
Drawing inspiration from jazz, classical, and trip hop, he creates captivating compositions.
Evin’s fascination with film scoring led him to craft evocative musical landscapes that enhance storytelling. As a band leader, Evin formed Rynx Laneran in 2019 and founded Big Fridge in 2018, fearlessly exploring new sonic territories. A sought-after session guitarist, he collaborates with Yankari Music, Christian Weathered, and the Tenters Quartet. Evin’s remarkable talent, versatility, and passion for music position him as a force in the industry, captivating audiences and pushing boundaries. Evin O’Brien has recently found inspiration in traditional Irish music, delving into its rich heritage. Fascinated by the genre, he embraces the spirit of innovation by experimenting with blends from other world music. In an exciting venture, Evin composed a set of six jigs and reels infused with Ethiopian pentatonic scales, playfully naming them his “Ethiopian Jigs.” This fusion of cultural influences showcases his creative and boundary-pushing approach to music.
